What to Expect from Learning Center Tutors

Tutors will:

• Be punctual to the appointment
• Answer questions to the best of their abilities
• Be knowledgeable of resources
• Guide you through the content and work with you to develop problem-solving skills
• Set reasonable expectations for the session and encourage active participation
• Be patient and adapt to students’ needs
• Provide feedback as you make corrections

Tutors will not check or correct assignments for the student.

What the Learning Center Expects from Student Users

Students  will:

• Attend class
• Schedule tutoring appointments in advance before assignments or tests
• Try working through the problems on their own before the tutoring session
• Prepare specific questions
• Come prepared with course materials, notes, textbooks, syllabi, calculator, etc.
• Engage in the tutoring session
• Communicate their needs
• Be patient and flexible
